Welcome,
This competition is open to all students attending an educational institution within Australia.
While final judging will be held in Victor Harbor, a seaside holiday destination for many Australians and overseas visitors, 80 kilometres approximately south from Adelaide's GPO, country and interstate teams may enter on the basis that if their submission is recommended to be submitted for the final judgement at Victor Harbor, then it and two members must be present to be considered for the final judging.
Three levels of entry exist.
Senior - teams whose average age is 17 years or over.
Middle - teams whose average age is between 13 and 16 years.
Junior - teams whose average age is 12 years or lower.
Where an average age falls between two levels, the average age is rounded up or down to the nearest whole year. Conditions exist where team members change:
- Where team members join or withdraw during the competition, the average age recorded at time of registering shall apply.
- All teams must lodge the age of all team members both at the time of registration and a week before final judging.
- The organisers reserve the right to reclassify a team if the average age difference is dramatically different to that at registration.
Cost of entry is $27.50 per team ($25.00 + GST $2.50). Cheques to be made payable to Energy Education Australia and crossed Not Negotiable. Energy Education Australia is a not for profit association incorporated in Australia (ARBN 122 169 635).
All cheques need to be posted to PO Box 361 Oaklands Park SA 5046.
Students and educational institution staff are encouraged to view all pages available from this website before committing themselves to this competition. The background of the three judges will give some idea as to what inclusion in your submission the judges will be looking for.
The organisers reserve the right to visit a team and check the progress it has made after arranging a suitable time with the team manager. Each team should expect at least one visit during the competition.
Each team must present at least two team members at the final judging to answer any questions the judges may wish to ask. The judges decision is final. Judging at Victor Harbor will be held on Sunday 19th October commencing at 10:00 AM. Doors will be open to teams at 9:00 AM. All entries will be on display from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM. Venue to be announced.
