Energy Education Australia is a national registered not for profit incorporated association (ARBN 122 169 635). Formed to present to youth the various forms of sustainable energy. While most of its members are educators coming from one of the four Australian registered educational areas, people working outside these areas are also welcome to join.
To comply with the various Commonwealth, State or Territory Governments, where most of our members will be working alongside youth classified as minors, we require satisfactory Police Checks to be completed before any membership can be accepted.
- To work with educational institutions throughout Australia and comparable groups overseas in the study/promotion of various energy sources and their applications.
- To provide an educational purpose and value through energy based activities between Member schools, tertiary institutions, corporations or individual Members within Australia.
- The promotion of learning in new and emerging technologies in the various forms of energy with an emphasis on sustainable energy for all.
- To foster the transfer and development of curricula in all educational institutions throughout Australia.
- To be a clearing house for the latest information from around the world on sustainable technology.
- To create, promote and manage events that provide opportunities for young people, and educators, to share their successes.
- To be active participants in events and opportunities to promote sustainable technologies.
- To provide and encourage fellowship and interaction between Member schools and tertiary institutions through the sharing of curricula, experiences and various events.
- To promote and manage energy events when Member schools or tertiary institutions field combined teams for competition
- Curriculum Committee - curently chaired by Bruce Leda, a teacher living and working in Whyalla for Department of Education and Children Services, South Australia. The position entails coordinating and overseeing the information for the associations web presence of suitable curriculum for students in schools and tertiary institutions.
- Events Committee - currently chaired by Pat Bosco, a Group Training Scheme Officer from South Austrralia's Engineering Employers Association. The position requires the chairperson to correlate all activities the association might run itself or be supportive of other associations or bodies that uphold the same objectives Energy Education Australia have. As an association, the rules state that it must be supportive of all existing events that challenge, encourage critical thinking and help develop our youth to be smarter, savvier in their approach to sustainable energy.

State/Territory Coordinators - coordinators work with the Board and the various committees to ensure members in their state or territory are represented. Coordinators either attend Board meetings in person, by tele conference or are kept up to date by e-mail.

Any individual who has an interest in sustainable energy but does not come under either of the above categories.
EDUCATIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Schools, TAFE Institutions, Registered Training Organisations (often called RTO's) and Universities as an identity are the actual members. Each school principal or equivalent (referred to as Executive Officer) in each institution then has the right to nominate two staff members to represent his/her institution in all matters before the association whether at the board or committee level.While only two staff from each member institution have that right to vote, as many staff from the institution can participate and be members on various committees as desired.
NON EDUCATIONAL MEMBERSHIP - Corporations and Individuals
Corporations and Individuals are most welcome to join and can be fully immersed Australia wide or be involved assisting their own state or territory branch. The cost for membership is the same as educational institutions but Non Educational members do not have the right to vote at any meeting concerning the Energy Education Australia Board unless they were duly voted in at an Annual General Meeting or Special Meeting of the association. Non Educational members who are not elected Board Members have the right to be members of committees, vote in matters concerning committees and be actively engaged in all of the association's activities.THE BOARD
The governing body of the association is called The Board. Only educational nominees can vote for the election of Board Members. The 16 member Board has a minimum of 12 members from educational institutions. The remaing Board members may come from corporations or individual members but require Educational votes to be elected.COMMITTEES
