Industrial Energy - Wave Energy - zero pollution

Fremantle, Western Australia

Off the coast of Western Australia experiments have revealed that electricity and fresh water can be produced simply by the motion of the waves. While many versions of this energy form have been utilised before, Ceto as it is named (after a Greek sea goddess), offers the potential to revolutionise power and water production globally. CETO harnesses the enormous renewable energy present in our ocean's waves and converts it into two of the most valuable commodities underpinning the sustainable growth of the planet; zero-emission electricity and zero-emission desalinated water. This is achieved by an action based on a piston pump method where the pump is anchored to the sea bed and a cable from the pump is attached to a float similar to what appears to be an overgrown crayfish pot float. You can bump the float, you could even go over it in a boat and the worst you could do in most circumstances would be to make it get out of your way. Each motion is just making the pump work, making more fresh water or electricity.

CETO

The story and video action of CETO working is available from the Carnegie Corporation website. Listed below are the various stages and their links.
